On Election Day, I support candidates whose values reflect my values. This election day, protecting reproductive rights is critical. Aimee Berger-Girvalo is my choice for re-election as Ridgefield’s State Representative to House District 111.
Across the country, reproductive rights have been decimated. Here in Connecticut, Democrats took pre-emptive steps to protect these rights. Representative Aimee Berger-Girvalo, a fierce advocate for reproductive rights, co-sponsored the Reproductive Freedom Defense Act. This bill protects our legal right to reproductive choice, the right to abortion, protects out of state patients seeking abortions and expands medical specialists who are allowed to perform abortions.
You may see Republican candidates claiming that their own personal beliefs will not affect their policies on reproductive rights in Connecticut. But Republicans in our State Legislature promote bills at every session that limit reproductive rights. The Supreme Court eliminated 50 years of rights when they overturned Roe V Wade. Based on the evidence, CT Republican legislators will do the same.
