Aimee Answers Questions Asked at the League of Women Voters Candidate Forum

Aimee Respects Voters

Ridgefield voters came out to the Ridgefield League of Women Voters Candidate Forum on Tuesday, Oct 1, to ask questions of and hear from the candidates running to represent Ridgefield in Hartford. Unfortunately, three of the four Republican candidates broke their commitments to participate in the forum, including my opponent who dropped out a mere handful of minutes before the program began, claiming that the moderator, who had been chosen on August 14th, was biased and therefore unacceptable. Because the Ridgefield League chooses not to conduct “empty chair” forums, voters were then denied the opportunity to hear from me, even though I had specifically traveled all day to arrive in time for the event, and arrived even sooner than I was expected. My opponent has subsequently sought to falsely blame my arrival time for this situation, despite the fact that I was in the building 45 minutes before we were scheduled to begin our portion of the event.

I was there, ready to answer the questions we were asked, and to deliver the information our voters deserved to hear.

The individual videos on this page include some detail on the scheduling and planning of the debate, as well as answers to each of the questions we would have been asked.
